The Starlifter, a long-range U.S. cargo/transport aircraft, was used primarily for cargo lift, as well as medical evacuation, paratroop drops and troop transport.
The last variant, the C-141B, was created by "stretching" the existing C-141A aircraft by 23 ft 4 in (7.11 m). This successful program rectified the design's original imbalance between weight-lifting capability and its constrained volume.
