The C-123 Provider was a short-range tactical transport formerly in U.S. service. It was designed to airlift troops and cargo to and from small, unprepared airstrips.

The C-123 had an unusual propulsion plant, with main power provided by two radial piston engines on wing nacelles, and auxiliary power provided by separate turbojet engines.
