Somalia—U.S. Conducts 1st Airstrike Against Al-Shabaab Since January

The U.S. has conducted its first airstrike against militant targets in Somalia since the beginning of the year, reports Military.com. On Tuesday, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) aircraft struck a single target in Galkayo, about 430 miles (700 km) northeast of Mogadishu, according to a Defense Dept. spokeswoman.
