The U.S. says it has killed a senior Al-Qaida leader in northwestern Syria, reports U.S. Central Command.
A U.S. MQ-9 Reaper uncrewed aerial vehicle conducted the airstrike that killed Abdul Hamid Al Matar, the command said.
There were no immediate reports of civilian casualties.
Al Matar was responsible for planning, funding and approving trans-regional Al-Qaida attacks, reported Agence France-Presse.
