On April 15, 2026, Raytheon announced it has successfully completed the first flight test of its RAIVEN Staring system on a UH-60 Black Hawk. The test demonstrated the system’s ability to map different terrains, including urban areas and coastlines, even in complete darkness. Additional testing is planned throughout 2026 to further validate performance.

The RAIVEN Staring system is an electro-optical/infrared sensor suite that uses multiple sensors to provide up to 270-degree, and potentially 360-degree, situational awareness. It operates in low or zero light conditions and enables accurate detection, recognition, and tracking of objects. It also includes passive missile detection and high-resolution imaging capabilities.
