Expansion of Lockheed Martin’s Munitions Production in Alabama

On May 21, 2026, Lockheed Martin announced the construction of Building 47 at its Munitions Production Center in Troy, Alabama, to expand munitions manufacturing. This expansion is part of Lockheed Martin’s larger US$9 billion investment plan through 2030, which includes upgrades and new facilities across the country.

The facility will support the production of Terminal High Altitude Area Defense interceptors and future Next Generation Interceptor programs. Lockheed Martin also continues strengthening its supply chain and manufacturing operations, with hundreds of suppliers and multiple production sites supporting increased munitions output nationwide.
