The Kenyan government has shut its border with Somalia in the Lamu region as it steps up security operations against the Al-Shabaab terrorist group, reports the Daily Nation (Nairobi). The border will only be open to security officers for an indefinite period, said Muchangi Kioi, the police chief for Lamu county.
