Al-Qaida May Be Regrouping Under Taliban, CIA Official Says

A senior Central Intelligence Agency official says that there are initial signs that Al-Qaida may be rebuilding under the new Taliban regime in Afghanistan, reports the Asian News International.

On Wednesday, David Cohen, the deputy director of CIA, said that recent intelligence reports indicated “some potential motion of Al-Qaida [returning] to Afghanistan,” reported Intelnews.org.
