2 Rebels Killed In Mindanao Raid

Two communist rebels have been killed in a military operation in the southern Philippine province of Agusan del Sur, reports the Manila Bulletin. 

On Tuesday, soldiers from the Philippine army's 26th Infantry Battalion attacked a temporary base used by the New People's Army (NPA) in Mahagsay, San Luis, an army spokesman told the newspaper. 

After about 30 minutes of fighting, the communists retreated, taking several wounded comrades with them.
