The latest strategic updates – the Integrated Review and the Ministry of Defence's (MoD's) attendant Defence Command Paper – have set the tone for the future structure of the Royal Air Force (RAF). Under the Integrated Force 2030 outline, the RAF will field seven operational Eurofighter Typhoon squadrons, plus the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II. The U.K. will also field the F-35A in a nuclear deterrence role under a contract for 12 inked in 2025.
