The U.K. maintains three distinct services: the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy, and the British Army. The Royal Marine Command is an integral part of the Royal Navy. Strategic Command comprises elements including Special Forces, defense-intelligence, and cyber operations capabilities. A new Space Command was announced in November 2020, with formal operations launched on April 1, 2021.
A Combined Joint Expeditionary Force (CJEF) with France was activated on April 21, 2016.
