Aircraft Programs

The Portuguese Air Force (Forca Aerea Portuguesa, or FAP) operates two squadrons of roughly 24 F-16AM/BM jet fighters as its frontline air combat component. These underwent upgrade to the Operational Flight Program development software M6.5 level. Portuguese officials announced in 2023 they would be willing to provide instructor pilots to train Ukrainian F-16 pilots, but would be unable to provide any aircraft.
