Combat Aircraft. The Hellenic Air Force has around 240-250 combat aircraft in its inventory. However, only about 60 percent of these remain operational. The rest are relegated to storage or cannibalized for spare parts. The Air Force's frontline fighters are the Lockheed F-16 and Dassault Mirage 2000E. As a result, the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense is in the midst of several initiatives to improve existing capabilities and adding new ones.
