Active End Strength
Austria's armed forces comprise roughly 22,000 troops. Total mobilization strength is authorized at 55,000. Around 12,000 reservists undergo refresher training in six-month tranches.
Following a national referendum held on January 20, 2013, which decided in favor of the practice by a 60-40 ratio, conscription remains in place and lasts for six months, followed by a three-year period in the Reserves.
