OVERVIEW
The Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) is organized into four naval defense zones: Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Wellington. Air support is provided by the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

The RNZN Volunteer Reserve (RNZNVR) is the reserve component of the navy, responsible for supporting the regular force at sea, along with maintenance and other shore duties.
