Aircraft Programs

Fighter Force. The 26-year civil conflict with Tamil Tiger separatists left the Sri Lanka Air Force in a problematic condition. Large numbers of aircraft were lost during the conflict, due either to enemy action or to accidents. Procurement was haphazard, with aircraft bought on the secondhand market when good deals were available.
