OVERVIEW
Established in 1973, the Chadian air force (Forces Aeriennes Tchadiennes) is a small, evolving force. France provides extensive combat support.
The air force is the air component of the army and does not constitute an independent force. It consists of a ground attack squadron, transport squadron and attack helicopter squadron. There is also a presidential transport squadron.
