The Dorado is a semi-submersible mine-hunting vehicle designed to detect the latest generation of low-signature mines. In service with the Canadian navy, it also forms part of France's SeaKeeper system (see separate record for more information).

The semi-submersible vehicle can tow a sonar towfish at speeds of up to 12 knots (22 kmh) at depths of up to 660 ft (200 m). It is powered by a 422 hp (315 kW) marine diesel engine, which also powers the hydraulically operated control...
