The SEVERODVINSK is a class of fourth-generation Russian nuclear-powered attack submarines. It was first designed to replace the VICTOR-III class. It is a completely new Russian design -- from Malakhit Central Design Bureau 16 (TsKB-16), headed by V.N. Pyalov. The class is also known as the YASEN or GRANEY class in Russia.
