These Chinese-built gun craft were transferred to the Democratic Republic of Congo, then named Zaire, after service in the Chinese navy. The design is based on the earlier Chinese SHANGHAI-I** class, which are slightly smaller and have a different gun armament (no longer in Chinese service).
