These Soviet-built craft were designed for patrol duties in coastal waters. Units of this class remain in service with several navies including Cuba, Iraq, and Angola. The POLUCHAT 1 design has a small, block superstructure, usually with a small, lattice mast forward of the bride supporting a radar and a small pole mast abaft the bridge.
