The craft were purchased after operating for several years in the Gulf of Mexico as commercial oilfield crewboats. All three rebuilt 1985-1986 at Lantana Boatyard, Lantana, Fla.

All three are active, but barely. They are to be replaced by the two new PROTECTOR class PCs.
