These patrol craft were built in Great Britain under order from Sri Lanka. The first unit was purchased in 1984 for evaluation. Eight more were ordered in January of 1985 and delivered by October of 1985. Some of the craft operate in the surveillance zone between Sri Lanka and southern India.
