The Indian navy ordered 16 ships under the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASWSWC) program divided into two variants built by Cochin Shipyard (CSL) in Kochi and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata.
