Originally built as personnel launches, these craft were converted to minesweeping boats before transfer from the United States. Units MLMS-6 through MLMS-8 were completed in June 1963; the completion dates for the MLMS-9 and MLMS-10 are unknown. They were designation as MSB-1 through MSB-5 while u nder construction.
