All were completed between 1961 and 1971. TNT-19 was completed on Dec. 26, 1971. Each ship is employed as a nuclear waste transport. The vessels can carry up to 906 tons of waste liquids from nuclear propulsion plants and have been used for open-ocean dumping of low-level radioactive materials.
