The MANAWANUI auxiliary ship is designed for diving, hydrographic survey, natural disaster assistance and salvage missions. She was converted from the Norwegian-built commercial vessel MV EDDA FON. The MANAWANUI was acquired to replace the retired hydrographic survey ship RESOLUTION and diving support vessel MANAWANUI.
