These are combined tankers and store ships, which carry victuals, armament and general stores. There are no facilities for replenishment at sea (RAS). BANDAR ABBAS was damaged by explosion of one of its fuel bunkers on June 3, 1998, while moored at Bandar Abbas on the Straits of Hormuz. She was repaired and returned to service.
