The PHS-32 is a medium-frequency, hull-mounted, panoramic, active and passive search and attack sonar that has been provided to several navies. Billed by the manufacturer, Thales Nederlands, as a compact and lightweight system, it can be fitted to corvettes displacing 220 short tons (200 metric tons) or more as well as frigates.
The sonar operates in four active modes and one passive mode using a 30-stave (each with 10 spot transducers), 60-preformed-beam cylindrical array.
