Plank Shave** is a naval air and surface-ship radar for smaller ships. It was introduced into service in 1979. Plank Shave is believed to be an improvement over the earlier Strut Pair** and Square Tie** radars. The antenna is a solid truncated paraboloid with an open-work upper edge and an underslu ng feed horn boom.
The radar's Russian designation is Garpun (harpoon).
