The Dutch M40 series fire-control radars are target trackers mounted on an optical director used for gunfire and Seacat short-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) control.
The radar traverses with the optical tracker but has separate elevation. The fire-control system (FCS ) -- which includes the radar transmitter, operator's displays and fire-control computer -- is also designated in the M40 series. M44 refers to a Seacat control system; the M45 FCS controls naval gu n mounts....
