Ball End** or Ryf, is a navigation radar introduced developed in the late 1940s and into service in the early 1950s. The radar is distinguished by its closed parabolic reflector antenna. Ryf can detect a large surface target at 20-22 nautical miles, and medium sized target at 14-16 nautical miles a nd a periscope at one nautical mile.
