The Type 571 is a ground-based, two-dimensional (2-D) air defense radar. It is designed for low-altitude surveillance and seems to be a Chinese variant of the Russian Flat Face ** target acquisition radar and used in conjunction with the Hong Qian 61A SAM. The system uses frequency hopping, variable pulse repetition frequency (PRF) and a moving target indicator (MTI) for effective operation in high-clutter environments.
