The 36D6 Tin Shield radar is a mobile three-dimensional system designed to detect air targets at all altitudes for S-300P (SA-10 Grumble/SA-20 Gargoyle) surface-to-air (SAM) missile batteries. The system has been replaced by the 96L6E radar in newer S-300P and S-400 SAM batteries. The 36D6 remains in service in countries worldwide, many of which have conducted indigenous upgrade programs. It operates in the S/E/F bands.
