The Explosively Formed Axe is an active-protection system (APS) under development by the Czech Republic. It comes in two versions, one designed for light and medium armored vehicles and the other for tanks. The system is intended to defeat rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and anti-tank missiles traveling at speeds of up to 2,000 ft/sec (600 m/sec).
