The Erieye is an active, phased-array, airborne early warning (AEW) radar developed for operation from relatively small airborne platforms. The active array consists of long fixed antennas placed back to back in a pod carried dorsally by an aircraft. Between the two antennas are 200 solid-state transmit/receive modules, each of which can feed either side.
