The SS-NX-24 was an advanced, submarine-launched, land-attack cruise missile. It was much larger than the SS-N-21 Sampson ** torpedo-tube launched cruise missile. The air-launched variant -- the AS-X-19 Koala ** -- was said to have a range of more than 1,700 nm (1,958 mi, 3,148 km), but no unclassified range figure for the Scorpion was ever released.
