Nitrogen mustards are vesicants and alkylating agents. They are colorless to pale yellow, oily liquids that evaporate slowly. These are three related nitrogen mustard agents: HN-1, HN-2 and HN-3. Nitrogen mustards are only slightly different from sulfur mustards. Exposure to nitrogen mustards may be more immediately toxic.
