Cyanogen chloride, also known as CK, is a colorless vapor at normal temperatures. It has an odor, but its irritating and tear-causing (lacrimatory) properties cause the odor to go unnoticed. It is intended for use as a quick-acting casualty agent. It can be used to degrade filter elements of defense equipment. CK also has a choking or irritating effect.
