Anthrax (Former NATO code: N) is a highly lethal disease that can be used as a biological weapon caused by toxins produced by the Gram-positive Bacillus anthracis bacteria after they are introduced into a host. Anthrax is also known as "woolsorter's disease" because it was often contracted by textile workers handling contaminated wool.
