description

The MOL-class torpedo/patrol craft have been developed specifically for export. The craft has the same basic hull and propulsion plant as the Soviet MATKA, STENKA, TURYA, and OSA classes. Of 4 units transferred to Somalia, 2 were armed with torpedo tubes.

The MOLs are flush-deck craft, easily distinguished by their long deckhouse with external vertical "ribs" and a slightly raised closed/open bridge with a "downward" slant. A lattice mast carrying the Pot Head surface search radar...
