The SPM mine is a time-delay limpet mine that uses the VZD-1M fusing system. The semi-cylindrical body is comprised of aluminum or Bakelite.

The time-delay mechanism can be set from approximately 5 minutes to 823 hours. One side of the mine is magnetic so it can be attached to metal objects.
