Some older mines that may still be in Russian inventories include the M12 , M16, MAG, AMAG1, PLT-3, KRAB, MIRAB, MKB-3, MAG and MYaM. Most, however, are newer weapons. Among the newer mines are several deep-water types, apparently capable of being planted in depths of at least 3,000 ft (915 m). The se mines are fitted with passive acoustic detection and, similar to the U.S. Navy's Mk-60 CAPTOR mine, release an anti-submarine weapon that homes on submarine targets.
