The Ghadr-101 is an element of the Iranian program to develop solid-propellant ballistic missiles. It is also known as the Shahab-3A, although sources disagree over whether its progenitor is the Shahab-3 or the Pakistani Shaheen-I, which was based on the Chinese M-9. The solid-propellant engines reportedly completed development in 2005 and were ready for flight testing in 2006. The rocket has a range of about 500 miles (800 km) depending on the payload.
