The SS-11 Sego (designated the UR-100 in Soviet/Russian service) was the heart of Moscow's attempt to achieve numerical strategic parity with the U.S. in the 1960s. The liquid-propellant ICBM filled the same role in Soviet service as the U.S. Minuteman system.
