The RS-26 Rubezh (Russian for "frontier") was an advanced, road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile designed to defeat existing and future missile defense systems. The solid-propellant missile was expected to complement Russia's RS-24 Yars and SS-27 Topol-M strategic weapons. The RS-26 was smaller than the Topol-M and Yars and similar in size to the submarine-launched SS-N-30 Bulava. Development work was halted in 2018.
