The RS-24 Yars (NATO: SS-27 Mod 2 or SS-29) is a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) system developed from the SS-27 Topol-M (Russian: RS-12M2). It is equipped with multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles (MIRVs). The RS-24 is expected to replace SS-19 Stiletto (Russian: RS-18) and SS-18 Satan (Russian: RS-20) missiles in Russian service. It is employed in both silo and mobile versions.
