The Sistema de Lanzamiento Multiple (SLM) multiple rocket launcher was designed by Chilean state-owned defense firm FAMAE. The multiple rocket launch system can be integrated on tracked or wheeled vehicles and fire rockets from 70-mm to 300-mm in diameter, providing ranges from 6 mi (10 km) to 90 mi (150 km). The SLM was designed to replace the Lightning rocket, which has been in service in Chile since 1989.
