The 127-mm SAPBA-1 (Sistema de Proyectiles Balisticos Autopropulsados) multiple rocket launch system consisted of a 36-round launcher unit mounted on a FIAT 6 x 6 truck. The launcher unit was subdivided into four 3 x 3 pods and all 36 rockets could be fired singly or in ripples at 0.5-second intervals.
The launcher vehicle had a crane for reloading and before firing; jacks were lowered to stabilize the vehicle.
