The Pralay is a quasi‑ballistic missile whose name in Sanskrit is a word meaning “catastrophe.” Built around a solid‑fuel motor and equipped with maneuverable re‑entry vehicle (MaRV) technology, Pralay is intended to be highly accurate and difficult to intercept.
In its standard configuration, the missile has a reach of roughly 217 to 311 mi (350 to 500 km) and can carry payloads between 1,102 to 2205 lb (500 and 1,000 kg), including high‑explosive fragmentation warheads.
